🚨 Emergency Appeal 🚨
We, Cambodian citizens residing in the Czech Republic, express our deep concern regarding the ongoing suffering of our homeland caused by the continued aggression and provocative actions carried out by the armed forces of Thailand.
We urgently call on the Czech Government to support efforts to ensure Thailand fully respects the July 2025 ceasefire and Cambodia’s sovereignty. We ask for help in pressing for the release of 18 detained Cambodian soldiers and in promoting dialogue grounded in international law. With Czech support, we believe peace, justice, and lasting stability can be secured for our people and the region.
We trust in the Czech Republic’s enduring commitment to peace, justice, and international law, and we remain
hopeful that it will lend its support to these efforts.
Programs
Current Initiatives & Projects
1. Czech Language Help
The best way to understand a culture is through communication.
Khmer, our national language, is very different from Czech—making everyday life challenging for many in our community. We aim to support Cambodian residents and interested foreigners in learning basic Czech for daily communication and integration.
We are currently seeking volunteers, funding, learning spaces, and materials to keep this project going and growing.
Your support helps bridge cultures and open doors.
Goal: CZK 100,000
2. Traditional Dance Program
We support the preservation of Cambodian traditional dance by providing costumes, training space, and lessons for our community.
This project allows us to proudly share our heritage at cultural and social events across the Czech Republic.
Even if we can’t bring all of Cambodia here, we bring its spirit to life through dance.
With your support, we can keep this tradition alive—and invite you to experience its beauty firsthand.
Goal: czk 50,000 per year
3. Cambodian Cooking Class
Food brings people together—a taste of home and culture, and a way to show care through the stomach.
Cambodian cuisine offers rich flavors and stories that reflect our way of life and heritage.
We host monthly cooking classes and events to share these tastes and traditions with your kitchen.
Support for ingredients, materials, and space helps us keep this program alive.
We’re excited to share our cooking skills and the stories behind each dish with you.
Goal: CZK 100,000
Our Root and Community
Cambodian pupulation in CZE
Though we are a minority here, Cambodia shares a meaningful history with the Czech Republic.
His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia studied in Prague for over a decade and was named an honorary citizen of the city 15 years ago.
He remains the only living monarch who speaks Czech—a unique symbol of the bond between our two nations.
Collaboration and projects
Since 1981, Cambodian students have studied in Czechoslovakia and later the Czech Republic, with nearly 400 graduates contributing to Cambodia’s development.
This meaningful exchange was shaped by King Norodom Sihamoni, who studied in Prague from 1962 to 1975. He remains the only living monarch who speaks Czech, symbolizing the deep and lasting ties between our countries.
This educational support continues today and plus many other project from Czech University, Ministries, along with broader collaborations in education, economic development, and other key sectors.
What the future holds
The future of Cambodian–Czech collaboration looks bright, rooted in decades of friendship and mutual respect.
As the Cambodian community grows and becomes more active in Czech society, opportunities for deeper cultural exchange, education, and economic cooperation will continue to expand.
With shared efforts in areas like language learning, cultural preservation, and professional development, both communities are set to benefit from a more connected and inclusive future.
